MUST- HAVE UTILITIES

Here is a short list of utilities that are the best-of-the-best. I recommend that everyone give these a try. You'll probably find that they are very useful.

Utility Description
MS PowerToys Small utilities that make your life easier. QuickRes, Tweak UI, Shortcut Target Menu, and Command Prompt Here are most useful.
TextPad Simply the best text editor available.
FreeWheel Make your MS Intellimouse scroll any application, even if it doesn't support the Intellimouse. One of the biggest time-savers I've ever found.
B.K. ReplaceEm My favorite free search-and-replace utility.
admnalow A small utility to add Administrator rights to any file or directory without destroying the current priveleges.
Virtually Unix The Unix 95 Collection gives you familiar Unix commands that Win95/NT lack. Saves time when you know how to do it it Unix but can't find a way in Windows.
Kill.exe and tlist.exe In WindowsNT, sometimes you can't kill processes from the task manager. Kill.exe lets you kill anything and tlist.exe gives you a nice listing of processes.
Security menu on right-click A simple .inf file that adds a "security" option under NT for files and directories on an NTFS partition. Saves the time of going properties|security|permissions.
